The aim of the course is to give the students a general picture of today’s international environment, concerning the implementation of technology in finance and shipping, as well as the challenges and risks that may arise through uncontrolled use of technology. Furthermore, it will be discussed how technology should be used, in which ways the banking system is going to change in the near future, and what kind of banking services are offered by companies outside the banking system. Finally, the course aims to show the students the variety of technology and innovation that is used in banking, the shipping industry, as well as other sectors of the economy today, worldwide.
