The course contains theoretical information on integration approaches and forms. The stages of the EU formation, the progress and problems of the Lisbon Treaty development, the EU budget and the functions of the main institutions are discussed. A brief description and analysis of EU economic policies, with special attention paid to the Common Agricultural Policy and foreign trade policy.
The aim is to introduce the principles of the formation of the European Union’s economic policy, current events and the impact of these policies on the development of Latvia’s economic policy.
