Manufacturing Engineering II

In continuation of MEM311 Manufacturing Engineering I, entities to be taught areQ Fundamentals of metal forming. Bulk deformation in metalworking, rolling, forging, extrusion, wire and bar drawing. Sheet metalworking, cutting, bending, drawing and other sheet-metal forming operations. Introduction to the practices and principles of advanced manufacturing methods, in order to familiarize students with modern industrial production. In addition the course includes the study of non-conventional machining methods such as chemical and electrochemical machining, electrical discharge machining, Laser cutting, water jet cutting, etc. It also addresses the relationship between the various production processes in product design, and the basic principles of numerical controlled machining systems. The course also includes introduction to the fundamental principles of automated production, such as computer assisted design, simulation and production (CAD, solidworks), Rapid Prototyping (3D printing), Production with the use of industrial robots, flexible manufacturing systems and the methods of Lean Production , JIT and CANBAN.
