Entrepreneurship and Rural Development

The course is articulated in the following 4 parts:

Part I: Rural development economics – 1) Definition of rural development 2) Agricultural sector and rural development 3) The rural web as theoretical tool to explain sustainable rural development

Part II: Entrepreneurial activity in rural areas – 1) Rural entrepreneurship: what does it mean? Individual and economic values in the analysis of entrepreneurship Entrepreneurial skills of farmers

Part III: Geographical indications and rural development- 1) Virtuous circle of GIs 2) How to evaluate impact of Gis on rural development

Part V: Rural development policies:  Reinventing rural policy

Duration:12 weeks.

Total per semester: 84h (42h lectures + 42h individual study)

12 hours of the course are reserved to Inno-eut+ material with mentoring sessions to develop and presenting the idea and the pitch.
