Course Description
Entrepreneurship

Duration – one semester, weekly in-person lectures. Entrepreneurship is the essence of free enterprise because the birth of new business gives a market economy its vitality. New and emerging business are the seedbed for innovation and enterprise and a transformative society. The overall aim of the course is to engender a spirit of entrepreneurial endeavour. It will do this by challenging a student’s own perception of self-fit with entrepreneurial activity.

Learning outcomes:

(1) Evaluate theoretical insights into entrepreneurship including development of new products and services. 

(2) Design a business model canvas for a new business concept, critique the business model concept.

(3) Research, organise, present, deliver and write an effective business plan a professional manner.

(4) Demonstrate a depth of strategic insight into entrepreneurial action across owner entrepreneur, SME, family, and MNC firms; and in a variety of environments including ‘VUCA’ (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous).
