The aim of this course is to communicate to students the key theoretical and practical aspects of social design, innovation and entrepreneurship through an interdisciplinary and collaborative learning framework. The course will cover the main points of social design, innovation and entrepreneurship, and the key methodologies and practices that inform them. Students will work in small interdisciplinary teams to address and solve real social issues on a small scale and at a pilot stage, and will use crowdfunding to practically support their counterparts’ initiatives. All students will be loaned an iPad for the duration of the course to use innovative teaching approaches, collaborative learning, and promote creative thinking to solve social problems through the use of information and communication technologies. Students will have the opportunity to structure their own learning in a way that benefits their personal development and academic interests.
