This course provides an in-depth examination of financial sources and mechanisms used in the shipping sector. It includes a comprehensive study of equity and debt financing, securitization, and capital budgeting techniques essential for shipping investment appraisals. Students will develop the ability to critically assess the impact of different financial sources on the capital structure of shipping companies. By the end of this course, students will be well-equipped to make informed financial decisions and utilize a diverse range of financial instruments and strategies for the optimal financial management of a shipping company.
